Youth Congress leaders call on ERA officials Seeks early completion of drainage work 9/19/2015 10:59:37 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 19: Youth Congress leaders on Saturday called upon Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of ERA department regarding the slow constructional work of a drain which is under construction at Sector 3 in Channi Himmat. According to press release, the delegation led by Jatinder Singh Chib President Assembly Youth Congress (AYC) Gandhi Nagar today appraised ERA offcails about slow pace of going work. The deputation leader Jatinder Singh Chib informed that the ERA department was constructing a drain of 10 to 15 metre span at Sector 3 in Channi Himmat for about 10 months but till now the constructional work is not completed yet and the work is stopped without its commencement. He added that the local people are embarrassed by this incomplete construction, students suffer on the way to their schools, and old persons are not able to move through there. He further mentioned that a Park is situated beside the drain but due to the unfortunate condition of the drainage system, the visitors of Park are getting harassed by the foul smell roaming around the area. He said bad condition of drainage is causing water borne diseases like malaria and dengue in the locality. Ajaz Choudhary General Secretary, Lok Sabha Youth Congress (LYC) said that the congress workers are in forefront in every battle for public demands and threatened that department must take this issue seriously and must initiate immediate concrete step for the issue within 30 days, otherwise youth congress workers will start agitation for the issue.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
