Court denies bail to alleged cheat | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 19: Special Municipal Magistrate, Jammu, M R Chak today rejected the bail application of Jarnail Singh Sodhi, who is alleged to have duped unemployed youth in the name of managing a government jobs for them. According to the police case, a written complaint was lodged by Navneet Gupta with Bus Stand police station that while he was travelling in a passenger vehicle, he met the accused who told him that he could manage a government job in case he pays him Rs 60,000. The accused used to dupe unemployed youth by giving them false assurances about providing jobs in government departments. The main target of the accused were the youth hailing from remote and far-flung areas of the state. A case under FIR Number 48/15 under Section 420 of RPC was registered againsy him at the Bus Stand police station. The special municipal magistrate, after hearing the two sides, observed that police were still investigating and trying to extract from the accused the information to unfold this big racket. The unemployed youth are the easy victims who can fall prey to such a trap laid by the accused and the police have yet to effect the arrest of associates of the accused who help him transacting the affairs of this racket. With these observations, the court rejected his bail application. (JNF) |
