4 HM, LeI militants killed in inter-group rivalry in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 19: In their fight to establish supremacy over each other in the valley, four militants of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and Lashkar-e-Islam (LeI) have lost their lives in inter-group rivalry in Kashmir in the last five days. Quoting intelligence inputs, official sources confirmed that the two militant outfits were at war with each other as both wanted to establish their supremacy in Kashmir. Sources said HM militant Fayyaz Ahmad Bhat of Patan, whose bullet ridden body was yesterday recovered from a field at Tangmarg, was actually killed by JeI militants to revenge the killing of the outfit's three militants at the hands of HM ultras. After subjecting him to torture and then killing him, the JeI militants threw his body in a field at Tangmarg, the sources added. "LeI has some educated militants also. Of the three of its militants, who were killed by HM on September 14 last, one was Naved Ahmad Khan, who had done IT degree from Chandigarh. He had joined LeI in October last year and was said to be behind the attack on a mobile tower in the area. The second militant was Aashiq Ahmad Wani, a student of law. He had gone missing in June 2014. The third militant - Amir Ahmad Rishi was also said to be well qualified. He had gone missing on July 15 last year," sources said. LeI's activities started last year after its attack on a mobile tower at Sopore last year. Till then, no one knew about it. LeI was formed by Abdul Qayum Nazar after he left HM following his differences with some commanders of the outfit. Some HM cadres were also said to have joined LeI. He is always accompanied by militant commander Imitiaz Ahmad, according to sources. |
