BJP-PDP likely to usher into valley winters with 2014 deluge hallucinations | Rs 55,000 crore central package still eludes J&K aspirations | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 27: Since the assertion given by the centre to provide a holistic package for Jammu and Kashmir after the state witnessed 2014 deluge, the nonchalance from the government on this account has left the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed a hapless man who is learnt to have shot a letter to center with a reminder to do the needful. Jammu and Kashmir was assured of getting a whopping Rs 55,000 crores for restructuring of the state, particularly the valley after the state witnessed a drastic flood in September 2014 that had tear into the social and economic fabric of the state. The formation of the BJP-PDP alliance in the state had come up with a strong assertion to the people of the state that since BJP led NDA government is in the centre, it would yield to the needs of the state as and when required. But for the package on disaster management that was likely to be floated in the month of June 2015, not reaching the state so far has raised a question mark on the credibility of the Mufti led government, which the people are thinking is incapable of doing good to them. " There were great expectations from the alliance that it would immediately look into the worsened scenario of the state in the aftermath of 2014 deluge that had come as a combination of poles apart ideologies , but with a hope that the coalition would satiate the necessities of the people which so far has not been addressed," said Toufeeq Ahmed, a resident of Bandipora who is looking up with great remorse towards coming winters in the valley with his house totally wrecked and having no roof to shelter him and his family . Sources are thus of the opinion that if the centre did not obliged immediately with the timely help before the winters set in for the people of valley, there is all likelihood of Mufti led PDP in valley receiving a severe jolt which already is under resentment for it being having joined hands with its ideologically contradictory partners and unable to deliver the goods for the people of valley. The sources further divulge that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, vary of the situation, is in great fix and hurry to get Rs 55,000 crore brought from centre so that he may set his crumbling house in valley in order. " The package held till date has two obvious reasons attached to its delay. One that the BJP does not wants the PDP to take away the credit of bringing whopping solace for the state. And the other is that since BJP already is standing flimsy grounds in Jammu due to its cadre being dubbed as gone pro-valley since joining hands with PDP for governance, the party wants that Rs 55,000 crore package for the state should routre through them so that people of Jammu too remain stayed assure that it is BJP that is looking into the state affairs," said the sources. Though the PDP camp express ignorance over Mufti Mohammad Sayeed having shot any letter to centre requesting for sooner dispatch of Rs 55,000 crore package, yet the recent public addresses of the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti's over the delay of package amply proves that PDP is in tight spot in valley before winters. |
