JAMMU, Oct 3 : District Udhampur Handball Tournament, organised by District Handball Association, started today at Mini Stadium, Udhampur with opening day witnessed exhibition match in men's section and two matches in women's category.
The competition was declared open by Station House Officer, Arjun Singh Chib, who was chief guest while District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Udhampur, Sudesh Kumar Chalotra was guest of honour.
President of the District Udhampur Handball Association, Ashok Kumar, general secretary, Ravi Singh Jaswal and organising secretary, Vipin Photra as also Raj Guru, Vikram Singh Slathia, Arun Mehta, Satish Kumar, Vinod Kumar and Suresh Khajuria were among distinguished gathering. In all, 12 clubs of the district are taking part in this three day competition. Earlier, in the men's exhibition match, Braham Rishi Bawra Reds defeated Braham Rishi Bawara Blues 12-08. In women's section, KC Club beat Nehru Club 06-03 and Jaganoo Handball Club outplayed Nehru Handball Club 07-06.
Today's matches were officiated by the technical penal comprising Rishi Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Sourabh Pandit, Ajit Singh, Manmeet Singh and Sanjay Kumar. |
