BJP bats for state's reorganization; stirs hornet's nest
10/4/2015 1:15:56 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 3: Bhartiya Janta Party, being the ruling partner in coalition today has stirred the hornet's nest on the issue of reorganization of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
While its former political advisor to state BJP president and senior party leader has batted for immediate necessity of adopting a resolution on the trifurcation of the state pleading RSS to contemplate immediate action, its MLA and former RSS pracharak has endorsed the vision saying there is no harm in pursuing the agenda.
It is pertinent to mention that recently Hari Om, senior BJP leader has advocated that trifurcation of J&K into Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh States is the exigency of the time and need of the nation as there is nothing that is common between the three disparate regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and that the senseless insistence of New Delhi to throw in the lot of the nationalist people of Jammu province and Ladakh region with the sectarian, backward-looking and secessionist Kashmiri leadership has only hurt the paramount national interests in the state rather than promoting it.
" If other states are batting for reorganization, what harm is there for the reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir," came a stunning answer from BJP MLA Nowshera and former RSS pracharak Ravinder Raina on a call from Early Times query.
He however added that it is not his prerogative to take any call on the issue, but if the RSS high command and its senior leaders may feel it necessary to invoke such resolution in the state, he is committed to it and will oblige with full support.
Hari Om in a statement issued had said that since all or nearly all the Kashmiri leaders are rabidly anti-Jammu and anti-Ladakh, fundamentally sectarian, exclusive in their approach and protagonists of limited or no accession of J&K with India, RSS should consider invoking Kurukshetra resolution on trifurcation of state.
Referring to an earlier occasion where RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had said that 'resolution on J&K is still in his pocket' , Ravinder Raina added that if need arose, RSS can take its own decision for the betterment of the state.
He however clarified that since at that time (2002), the state was undergoing a highly diabolic situation where the Kashmir centric leaders of the state and centre had fallen to the machinations of the Kashmir ideology supported by Pakistan and terrorism.
"Everybody was only focusing on Kashmir then. The RSS national executive had adopted a resolution at Krukshetra rejecting autonomy for Jammu and Kashmir, favouring holding of Assembly elections under President's Rule and abrogation of Article 370," said Raina .
The resolution had taken note of the "blatantly discriminatory attitude" of the National Conference government towards Jammu and Ladakh regions of the state, RSS chief spokesman M G Vaidya had told a press conference.
Hari Om further reminded the RSS that its national executive had also adopted a resolution on the last day of its two-day meeting at Kurukshetra rejecting autonomy for J&K and favouring abrogation of the separatist, communal and divisive Article 370, and added that what the RSS said in its resolution was what the entire nation sincerely believed in and religiously and consistently fought for.
It is the fundamental duty of the RSS to implement what it said at Kurukshetra in the larger national interest and in the interest of the socially and economically ignored and politically marginalized people of Jammu province and Ladakh region, added Hari Om.
