MVD to post license through post, minimize agent system: RTO 10/4/2015 12:24:14 AM Early Times Report Kathua, Oct 3: Motor Vehicle is department likely to post Licenses through post like Passport/ PAN cards with the aim to minimize mid men system between department and Commuters. Regional Transport Officer Kathua Amarjeet Singh informed new scheme to facilitate commuters during Medical checkup cum awareness programme. The scheme will be introduced in Kathua as 400 licenses duly printed are pending with the department and nobody approached till day to receive the licenses. RTO informed that Commuters must attach self addressed envelope stamped with Rd 15 for area falling under Municipal Committee and Rs 45 for out of MC area. He said aspirants will just approach for trail in ground and their license will be reached at their home after 3-4 days. While highlighting awareness camp, Singh said 17% incidents occurs due to lack of awareness about traffic rules, overloading, drug addiction or bad health of drivers. He said JK MVD used to organize such awareness and medical checkup in previous years and drive will continue in days to come. RTO said Apex Court has order to take strict action against overloading of goods transport and MVD Kathua is strictly implemented the direction wherein 17-18 overloaded trucks have been detained by MVD Lakhanpur and drive will continue in future.
