Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 3: Jammu and Kashmir Assembly speaker Kavinder Gupta on Saturday admitted a breach of privilege motion against Managing Director Tourism Development Corporation, DDC Anantnag and Chairman JK Bank. Member of Legislative Assembly from South Kashmir's Pahalgam constituency Altaf Ahmad Wani (Kaloo) has moved the privilege motion against the trio. He said that on 1st October Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed inaugurated Pahalgam club but surprisingly District Development Commissioner Anantnag and Managing Director JKDTC violated the laid rules and didn't mention his name on the inaugural stone. "Being a local representative (MLA) of Pahalgam there was no mention of my name on the inaugural stone. This act has definitely hit the aspirations of people who voted for me and is aimed to demoralize the essence of the democratic institution," he said. He said that according to rule 29 of GAD-2012 it was mandatory for them to mention my name on the stone being a local representative of Pahalgam. In the month of May, Altaf Ahmad Wani was not also invited to a meeting which Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed chaired. He was not also invited to attend inaugural function of Lidder Valley Amusement Park Pahalgam. Park was inaugurated by Horticulture Minister Abdul Rehman Veeri. Speaker while taking a strong note of the incidents referred the privilege motion to legislative section for further action according to laid rules. |
