MLC seeks ATR from Deputy Commissioner Jammu | Park turns into residential plots at Tawi Vihar Colony | | Sumit Sharma

Jammu, Oct 5: Member Legislature Council (MLC), Congress, Rani Gargi Billoria sought action taken report from Deputy Commissioner Jammu in her initiative against the encroachment after Early Times in its edition of 3 Sept highlighted encroachment of public park in Tawi Vihar residential colony. As per communiqué no PS/451/2015 dated 4/10/15, to DC Jammu MLC said, the park at Tawi Vihar Colony was inaugurated by her and has now allegedly been encroached by some persons .Hence DC should hold inquiry and submit the same along with the action taken report. In its 3 September's edition, ET had reported that the park sanctioned for the Tawi Vihar Colony by the Housing Corporation was allegedly allotted as plots. The park under encroachment was inaugurated by the former deputy Mayor of the JMC, now MLC, Rani Billowria. Locals held protest demonstration against the MD Housing Cooperation B.B. Sharma who happens to be the relative of a minister in BJP, PDP led coalition government at Tawi Vihar Colony after two persons, one of which is the former Town Planner and other is the owner of the palatial hotel in Jammu claimed that they have been allotted plots by the Housing Corporation. While they started work, the residents gathered and raised anti government slogans. They also lodged complaint with the JMC Commissioner and Vigilance Organization that the park had been turned into residential plot and allocated to influential allottees. On the occasion Rani Billowria, MLC, when contacted said that she inaugurated park at 27 B at Tawi Vihar Colony and for the purpose she had asked JMC and Floriculture department to develop a model park. She further said she had also received phone calls from the residents of the Tawi Vihar Colony apprising her that the park she inaugurated has been illegally converted into residential plots. When contacted, Registrar Cooperative Societies assured inquiry terming the matter as serious. |
