Not Modi but system is responsible for various maladies | | | Though one may blame a former Union Minister and a senior BJP leader, Arun Shourie, for indulging in exaggerations while launching a frontal attack on the functioning and policies of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, one is bound to accept part of the allegations against Modi. If not anything else where is the foreign investment in various sectors of industry? And this scheme has been on the top of the agenda of Modi? Where are "Ache Din" for which Prime Minister, Modi, had made a promise to the people of India? For centuries pulses have been treated as diet for the poor because of the lower price level. However, during the last four to five months prices of pulses have touched a new high and even the rich cannot afford to buy pulses that sell at rates between Rs.120 and 135 per kg.No major improvement has been witnessed in the growth of Industrial sector which has not helped the Government in resolving the problem of unemployment there is a sharp failure in what Modi had promised and what is available to the people of India. In a sharp attack on the Narendra Modi government, BJP leader Arun Shourie has contended that the Modi led Government believes that managing economy means "managing the headlines" and that people had started recalling the days of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. "Doctor Singh (Manmohan Singh) ko log yaad karne lag gaye hain (People have started recalling the days of Manmohan Singh)..Pointing out difference between the present and the previous governments,. Shourie said: "There is clearer belief (in the present dispensation) that managing economy means managing the headlines and this is not really going to work." There has never been as great a centralisation of functions, not power, of functions in PMO as now. ...If fellows don't have domain expertise, that Brajesh Mishra had, L.K. Jha had, all these principal secretaries had, then things get stuck."Shourie said, "If you see impediments that were there in tax administration, virtually no change... Banking reform has been delayed by year and a half for no reason. So therefore this tortoise is a very generous metaphor. Ye to so hi jata hai (this tortoise goes to sleep)."He has claimed that industrialists are afraid of speaking against the government. "The industrialists who meet the Prime Minister don't speak the whole truth. After meeting PM, they say 'please do something' And in front of the media they give the government 9 out of 10. This not the fault of either the BJP led NDA Government or that of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. If the industrialists do have problems with the functioning of the Government they should spell out. Modi had given them an opportunity to do when he had a detailed meeting with top industrialists. If these industrialists have not utilized this opportunity for pointing out plus and minus points of the Government functioning they are to be blamed. When Modi took over as Prime Minister he had a dream of building India on modern lines and that idea took him to several countries where he had meetings with heads of those Governments. His plan was to utilise these meetings for helping his mission of 'Make in India."By now he should have succeeded but the way his party colleagues and the opposition leaders have been raising hurdles, in one form or the other, has slowed down the development projects. Political situation remain under threat of disturbed security scenario because of the activities of terrorists, fundamentalists and extremists. This led to what is called intolerance resulting in breezy communal conflict disorder. This way if Arun Shourie has accused Modi of all sins that that are prevalent in the country he seems to be quite harsh in his opinion. Communal conflicts and activities of terrorists, extremists and fundamentalists have been as old as India's independence. Modi has the stamina to rectify the age-old wrong provided he handles one issue or problem at one time. Its is not Modi's fault, the fault lies in the system which does not help a ruling party leader to remove the wrong. |
