Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 28: Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) here has left hundreds of candidates in lurch. These job aspirants had applied for various posts which were advertised 2-years ago, since then GMCH authorities are sleeping over the issue indicating that "blue-eyed" candidates have been selected through backdoor and deserving have been left out.
Aspirants while talking to Early Times said the then Principal GMC Dr Shashi Guptahad issued a notification in 2013 to fill various posts at Associated Hospitals of Government Medical College Jammu. "One post of House Keeper, 30 posts of Senior Staff Nurse, one EEG Technical-II, three post of Assistant Programmer, One post of Data Operator, 70 posts of Junior Grade Nurses, 10 posts of FMPHW, one post of Dietician and seven post of Medical Record Technician were advertised dated October 30, 2013", they said.
After lapse more than two years, the process is hanging in balance, said an aspirant, adding that hospital administration is maintaining a criminal silence over the issue.
"These appointments shall not entitle the appointee to any prefential claim for regular appointment under normal process of selection/appointment. The services of an appointee under these rules shall be terminable before the expiry of the tenure of appointment with one month's notice from either side", notification read, and added that the appointee under these rules shall have to execute an agreement with the Government on the prescribed form appended as form A to SRO 384.
"In service candidate working in the Directorate of Health Service shall not be eligible to apply. The number of posts can increase or decrease as per the requirement of the Institution without any further notice. The selection committee reserves the right not to fill up any post in case Administrative exigency so demands", the notification added
Following this notification hundreds of candidates had applied for these posts but after that GMC officials left the process half way. "It seems blue-eyed have been appointed through backdoor and advertisement was just a mere-eye wash," aspirants alleged.
