Jaziya on pilgrims to continue: BJP Ministers barter peoples' emotions for lust of power
10/29/2015 12:41:11 AM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 28: Nearly two months have been passed when State Government had imposed "Jaziya" on the devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi but no step has been taken so far to with the most controversial and communal decision of the coalition Government.
It appears that leadership of so-called pro-Hindu party BJP, which is part of the Government, has compromised on the emotional issue due to pressure from the party Ministers in the Government. For the last one month, all BJP leaders have tighten their lips on "Jaziya" issue because, as per credible sources in the party, they were snubbed by the national general secretary of the party, Ram Madhav for raising the service tax issue.
Credible sources in the BJP said that party Ministers, who are more concerned about protecting interests of power brokers and business lobby, have complained before Ram Madhav that some party leaders were unnecessarily flaring up minor issue of imposing "Jaziya". They convinced Ram Madhav to give warnings to party leaders including some office bearers of affiliated organisations against raising "Jaziya" issue to destabilise the Government.
As reportedly all BJP Ministers had claimed that "Jaziya" imposed by the coalition Government on pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi will be revoked "very soon". It is really a matter of concern for the people of Jammu region because State Government had announced in the recent Assembly session not to revoke the order which was issued on September 2, 2015 to impose tax on the devotees.
For BJP Ministers power is more important then aspirations of the people of Jammu region. Most of BJP Ministers have maintained silence on Jaziya issue because they donot have time to discuss these issues and they have some other priorities. They are more concerned about transfers and adjustment of their agents in the administration instead of addressing such emotive issues.
