PSIs run the show in police deptt; SIs sidelined 10/29/2015 12:42:33 AM Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 28: Probation Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) are virtually running the show in the Police Department across the State especially in Jammu district. The influence of these PSIs can be gauged from the fact that most of them are delaying their probation test as they don't want to leave in-charge police post. Ironically, the confirmed sub-inspectors are moving from pillar to post to get themselves adjusted as in-charge police post. In the order of establishment board, eight in-charge police post including 12 officers were adjusted. However, sub-inspectors were adjusted as investigation officers in police stations. One of the SIs wishing anonymity rued that senior officers are spoiling their career by not appointing them as in-charge police post. "This is despite the fact that we have cleared all the tests while these PSIs are yet to clear their exams," he said. A former police officer said functioning of the police posts is deeply affected with this new move of the Police Department.
