JK TT organizes Silver Jubilee Himalayan Trekking | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 28: Second phase of Silver Jubilee Himalayan Trekking Programme-2015 being organized by Tawi Trekkers J&K, started today with 46 students of Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar leaving for the Heritage trek to Kangra Fort, Jawalajee and Macleodganj in Dharamshala area of Himachal Pradesh. Two teachers of the school Arjun Singh and Inderjeet Singh also accompanied the group along with leader of the group Sonam Sidharth who is Joint Secretary of Tawi Trekkers J&K. The group was flagged off by Principal of the School Rameshwar Mengi in the presence of Ram Khajuria and Shawetica Khajuria, Sr. Vice President and General Secretary of Tawi Trekkers J&K, a large number of staff members and parents of the participants. The purpose of the programmes is to expose young boys and girls to nature and world famous heritage sites of Himachal Pradesh.Tawi Trekkers J&K is celebrating the year 2015 as the Silver Jubilee year of Himalayan Trekking Programme.This is the most popular adventure activity of the club among school students during summer vacations for the last 25 years. The club has already conducted 18 events/activities including 8 treks, one professional adventure camp and two coaching camps for sport climbers and shall now be organizing another 5 heritage treks. |
