HC directs CS to constitute a committee PIL against child abuse 10/29/2015 1:34:26 AM Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 28: In a PIL filed against Child Abuse and seeking direction to respondents to set up a committee for child counselling consisting of doctors, psychologists and child experts at school level, a high court division bench of Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey and Justice BS Wali today directed the chief secretary to constitute a committee for examining the issue. In the PIL, the petitioner also sought direction to the state to constitute special police stations which can work exclusively for matters related to child issues and also constitute special homes for preventing, safeguarding and dealing with child abuse and to enforce the existant laws relating to child abuse in the state. The bench issued notice to the Chief Secretary, Commissioner Social Welfare Dept, Principal Secy Home Dept, Secy Law & Justice, DGP J&K returnable before December 3, 2015 and also directed Chief Secretary to constitute a committee for examining the issues raised in the petition and the committee shall submits its original report within one month and also directed respondents to file reply before next date of hearing.
