Srinagar, Oct 28: The Prime Minister is likely announce about Rs 80,000 crore package to the State at a rally of the BJP-PDP at Srinagar on Nov 7. According to sources, the PM gave this assurance in a meeting with the chief minister mufti Mohammad Sayeed in Delhi this month. PM Modi has assured the Mufti Sayeed that all possible assistance both economic and political will be given to the State.
“Mufti briefed Modi about the importance of the package. The PM after a patient hearing told him that the decks have been cleared for the package to the State and he will make an announcement in the Srinagar and not in Delhi,” said the sources.
They said the idea of making an announcement about it in Srinagar was made given by Mufti Sayeed which was readily accepted by the PM.
Source said Mufti in a detailed meeting with Modi told him that the coalition was hit by the teething problem in the first six months on account of different controversies and a financial package from the Centre would help it out. The Prime Minister accepted this is promised all help to the state. |
