Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 28: Ridiculing Jammu Kashmir Police, local establishment of BSF have refused to cooperate in the investigation into a case of ‘molestation’ on the wife of a police constable by a BSF officer. Moreover, following court’s order, Akhnoor Police have added one more section in already registered case against the BSF officer.
Sources told Early Times that Police have added section 458rPC (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night after preparation for hurt, assault, or wrongful restraint) against BSF’s doctor, who has been facing allegation of molestation upon Sunita Devi wife of constable Naresh Kumar.
Earlier, on October 18, police had registered a case against BSF officer under section 354 RPC (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty). Sources further said that despite written letter to authorities 33Bn BSF, based in Akhnoor to ensure appearing of doctor in police station for investigation, BSF has turned deaf ear on the matter. “Instead of presenting the accused before investigation officer, the BSF is asking police to come to BSF camp for same”, sources claimed. “It is also being claimed that the officer has managed to get anticipatory bail from court, but copy of bail has not been provided police yet”, they added. When contacted SHO, Akhnoor Pushpinder Singh said that the police has written to BSF authorities, seeking cooperation in the investigation.
“Unfortunately, BSF is not responding to our letter”, he added. “Police would perform its duty, to complete the investigation into the matter” SHO asserted..
