Anti encroachment drive launched along NH-1A | | | Early times report Udhampur, Nov 24: The Housing Board Udhampur authorities today conducted anti-encroachment drive along National Highway and demolished some illegal structures. As per official spokesperson, the enforcement staff including Naib Teshildar Sat Pal Sharma with the members of Housing Board Udhampur escorted with police party conducted a day-long anti-encroachment drive along highway and bulldozed some concrete structures. During the drive the team demolished the illegal; construction of the shops at the national highway and also demolished the portion of the shop constructed at the first story of the Car Accessories Shop M/s Car Glory owned by Pardeep Mahajan. However the owner along with some relatives defended their case and objected the demolition terming it as discrimination. Pardeep Mahajan and others alleged Housing Board authorities being adopting only 'pick and choose' policy. Meanwhile speaking to Early Times, Naib Tehsildar Sat Pal Sharma briefly said, "We have demolished the said construction following the order issued from Managing Director of Housing Board S A Raina." |
