Jammu, Nov 23: Senior PDP leaders and party workers felicitated former MLC and senior party leader on his being appointed as party General Secretary during a felecitation ceremon y.
Addressing a function, which was organised to felicitate Ved Mahajan on his appointment as general secretary of the party, Minister for CAPD, Choudhary Zulfikar and Ministers for Rural Development, Abdul Haq Khan today said economic package announced by the Centre for J&K is historic in the sense that first time wishes and aspirations of all sections of the society have been incorporated while finalizing any financial package for the State. PDP Ministers said that besides infrastructure rebuilding, the package also includes funds for rehabilitation of victims of natural calamities including last year's devastating floods. and said that package is beginning of a process of rebuilding State's economy and it would which would go a long way in restore peoples trust in the democratic institutions.
Meanwhile congratulating Ved Mahajan on his appointment as party general secretary, PDP ministers said that it is duty of the party cadre to educate the masses about historic package. They asked party workers to reach out to the masses so that all deserving people will take benefits of the package.
Speaking on the occasion, Ved Mahajan expressed his gratitude towards PDP leadership, especially Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and party president Mehbooba Mufti for appointing him as general secretary of the party. Mahajan assured the party leadership that he will work round the clock to further strengthen the party. He said that party leadership has given him a big responsibility and he would work assiduously to fulfil expectations of the party leaders and workers.
Earlier party leaders including two party ministers felicitated Ved Mahajan on his appointment as general secretary of the party. They garlanded Mr Mahajan and shouted slogans in favour of the party.
Vice chairman of Scheduled Castes (SC) Advisory Board, Bhushan Lal Dogra, T S Bajwa, Fallail Singh, Ch Hussain Ali Waffa, Jatinder Bhat, Surjeet Kour, Vinod Sharma, Dr Harmesh Singh Salathia, F C Bhagat, Rajinder Manhas, Hussain Ali Wafa, R K Bali, Satpal Charak, Vijay Raina, Geeta Thakur, Ashok Jogi, Deepak Handa, Sunil Bhat, Shafi Choudhary, Choudhary Chunni, Varinder Singh Sonu, Harmeet Singh, Sohit Sharma, Swaran Singh Shanty and others also spoke on the occasion. |
