Bhartiya College of Education celebrates Heritage week | | | Early Times Report Udhampur, Nov 24: Bhartiya College of Education organized programme in connection with the World Heritage Week in which large number of students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Various activities were held as the part of programme which include slogan writing competition, poster making competition & exhibition of heritage artifacts in addition to a seminar on "Knowing the Past for a Better Future" The programme was organised by the INTACH Heritage Club of the College with an objective to motivate the youth by disseminating awareness to protect and conserve our cultural heritage. Dr K C Sharma, Chairman Duggar Heritage Society and Prof Sudhir Singh Life member Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage were the Special Guests on this occasion. Ashok Khajuria represented the College Management during the celebrations. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Sharma threw light on heritage and said all our values and traditions are intangible form of heritage and we must have inquisitiveness to learn more and more about them In his presentation Prof Singh said that Udhampur is the centre of Dogra culture and heritage. He however underlined the need to propagate what we know and revive what has been lost and suggested that heritage volunteers of the College can take up small projects on various aspects of our cultural heritage and document them During the proceedings of programme Ambica Sharma, Sushma Rani and Kanupriya , teacher trainees of the College presented their papers highlighting various aspects of the theme. Earlier Prof Rakesh Sharma presented welcome address while Principal of the College Prof Sukham Chand presented vote of thanks. Ms Diksha Gupta was declared winner of slogan writing while Ms Diksha Kumari in Poster Making competition and were presented awards by the special guests. |
