Food outlets continue to play with lives of people, cockroach found in 'Harissa' | | | Wahid Beigh Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Nov 25: Food outlets located in the various areas of the summer capital continue to play with the health of the people with some of them even supplying inferior food items to the city residents. Same happened with a resident of the summer capital early in the morning. This resident got a shock of his life and he along with his family members could not understand the 'motive' behind the supply of food items that are inferior in quality. Arif Ahmad Dar, a resident of Nowshera locality of Srinagar purchased 'Harrisa' (meshed meat), a delicacy from a 'Harissa' seller in the Naid Kadal locality in downtown Srinagar. When Arif opened the packet of 'Harissa' to relish it along with his family members he got a shocker of his life. The entire Dar family was shocked to see that a cockroach was present in the 'Harissa' packet. The presence of cockroach virtually led to chaos and confusion among the family members since some of them had a bite of the 'Harissa' before the cockroach was spotted by them. Some of the family members vomited like anything after seeing the cockroach. The situation could have taken ugly turn if some of the family members suffered serious ailments. Arif tried his best to reach the 'Harissa' shop but by the time he reached there the shop had been shut. He then tried his best to contact the officials of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) but failed since none among them was available for any response on phone as it was a government holiday on account of Gurupurab on Wednesday. |
