NOWSHERA, Nov 27: On the directions of SDM Nowshera, the team of Legal Metrology department Rajouri conducted special market checking in Nowshera area. The team checked various trade establishments including Karyana, bakery, sweet shops and vegetable/fruit sellers. The team booked erring traders for violation of various provisions of J&K weights and measurs Enforcement Act and a fine of Rs7500 was realised from the defaulters on the spot. The traders were directed to shun unfair trade practices, use verified weights & measures, display MRP, net contents, date of packing, complete address of manufacturer/packer with consumer care number on the commodities sold in packaged form. The team also asked the consumers to use their right as vigilant consumers. |
