JAMMU, Nov 27 : Two-time champion, University of Jammu (JU) today sailed into the semifinals of the ongoing All India Vice Chancellor (AIVC) Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at DDU University, Gorkhpur in Uttar Pradesh.
As per the reports reaching here, in today's quarterfinal encounter, JU defeated Patiala University comfortably by eight wickets.
Earlier, batting first, Patiala bowled out for 88 runs in 17.5 overs. Parithpal and Kumarjeet were main scorers with 35 and 17 runs in their respective accounts. From JU, Rajesh, Ameet and Raj Kumar Bakshi shared two wickets each while Daub Iqbal Baba took three wickets.
Later, JU chased the total losing only two wickets. Daub Baba made highest 37 runs while Ameet Targotra and Raj Kumar played unbeaten innings of 29 and 19 runs respectively. From Patiala University, Jasbir and Parminder shared the wickets.
For his all round performance of three wickets and 37 runs, skipper, Daub Baba was declared man of the match. |
