Who will rule Narwal! | SIs fight it out to get plum posting | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 27: A vigorous struggle is said to have started among some SIs to get a posting at Narwal police post as its incharge. The police post fell headless after its incharge was sent by the police headquarters for a training course. At least four to five SIs, who were at present posted in South Jammu, were making all-out efforts to become the Narwal police post incharge, according to police sources said. Sources while some were making rounds of the offices and residences of their seniors to seek their blessings, others were approaching their political masters to utilise their services. "Every one of them is interested in getting a posting at Narwal mainly because it has a vast area under it. Its importance can be gauged from the fact that a posh malls, shopping arcades, the sprawling transport yard and a long stretch of the national highway fall under its jurisdiction," the sources added. "Average 100 FIRs get registered at the police post annually. This number is very high given the fact that a number of police stations here do not touch this figure of the FIRs," sources said. While the SIs, who were in the race, were said to have activated all their resources and skills to block the entry of others to the coveted police post, none of them had so far been given a green signal by the office of SSP, Jammu. Every one of them is keeping his fingers crossed. |
