Zulfkar sets Dec 5 deadline for distribution of pending ration quota in Jammu | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 27: Minister for CAPD and Tribal Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today said the pending quota of ration for the consumers of Jammu division would be released by 5 December 2015. He warned of strict action against the CAPD Department officials in case of any laxity in the implementation of the decision. The Minister passed these directions while chairing an officers meeting here today to take a detailed review of the status of supply of essential commodities, especially wheat, in Jammu division. The Minister issued instructions to the concerned officers to set fixed schedule for procurement, dispatch and distribution of rations to the consumers besides maintaining proper inventory in this regard. "Adhering to fixed schedule of ration distribution would ensure hassle-free delivery of rations to the consumers", he added. Taking note of certain complaints regarding delayed delivery of rations to the consumers, the Minister asked the CAPD Department to ensure effective monitoring of the procurement and distribution process. He also asked the Assistant Directors of the Department to conduct physical inspection of sale outlets in their respective jurisdictions to check any irregularities in supply of food-grains. "This will also help them get regular feedback from the people about the functioning of these sale outlets," he said. The Minister exhorted upon the concerned officers to ensure strict quality control of the flour being provided to the consumers as a number of complaints have been received in this regard. He asked the Assistant Director Mills to ensure that the gunny bags bear the official phone numbers on which the consumers can register their complaints. The Minister reiterated his directions for installation of suggestion-cum-complaint boxes, electronic weighing machines and display of prescribed scale and rate list besides mobile number of concerned Assistant Director at every sale depot. The Minister stressed upon the officers to work in a transparent and coordinated manner to uphold the sanctity of the Department. He sought their commitment so that the department's functioning is further streamlined making it a vibrant unit of the government. Minister of State for R&B and Revenue, Mr Sunil Sharma, MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, MLA Bhaderwah, Daleep Singh Parihar, MLA Ramban, Neelam Lengeh, MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar, MLC Firdous Tak, MLC Naresh Kumar, MLC Sham Lal, Special Secretary CAPD, Director CAPD Jammu alongwith other senior officers of the department and Assistant Directors of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts were present at the meeting. |
