Unscheduled power cuts irk residents in Bhaderwah | | | Early Times Report Bhaderwah, Dec 11: The Power supply in Bhaderwah town is playing "hide and seek", as unscheduled cuts and low voltage have become a routine in Bhaderwah . With the mercury dipping, the Bhaderwah town has started facing low voltage and power crisis. Many of the transformers are getting overloaded, which results in low voltage and unscheduled power cuts. "Earlier we use to face power crisis during summers only, but for the last few days, the power is playing hide and seek with us in winters also," said Sheikh Masood Ahmed. The department may have declared that there will be no power cuts in the whole Bhaderwah town after installing 110 MVA transformers at Dandi grid station, but the unscheduled cuts irk more than the scheduled cuts. Students are the worst sufferers of unscheduled power-cuts .They maintained that the erratic power supply have badly affected their studies. "Erratic power supply has affected our education. We have to study under candle light. Poor performance of students in examination is mainly due to unscheduled power-cuts," a student said. Thakur Yudvir another resident of Bhaderwah said that they receive power supply only for few hours with frequent cuts. Many times they appeal to Chief Engineer PDD to look into the matter but all in vain. |
