JOURIAN, Dec 11: In continuation with the Indian Army's efforts of contributing towards the overall development and upliftment of the society, the Gunners of the Crossed Swords Division under Op Sadhbhavna handed over Sports Kit to Government Primary School, Siteryal.
According to army spokesperson, "The school lacked basic sports infrastructure for the students and this problem was projected by the concerned school and village authorities during liasion meetings." "Considering the importance of Co-curricular activities for the overall development of the students, the Army provided the School with sports infrastructure / eqpt for Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Carrom, Chess and Cricket kits to the school management in a formal handing over ceremony," he added
Defence spokesperson said, "The Zonal Education Officer, the Headmaster of the School, Village Sarpanch and Ex-Servicemen of the area appreciated this noble effort by the Army."
The locals have conveyed their heartfelt gratitude for providing the students of Government Primary School, Siteryal with the Sports item. |
