Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 8: The National Secular Forum (NSF) staged protest demonstration outside University gate against the flawed policies of VC JU for his anti youth stand landing the educated youth to precarious situation over recalling the MSP certificate at the eleventh hours when the interviews of AP are being held by PSC in various subjects.
NSF District Chairman Amit Sanotra stated that PSC has decided not to accept equivalence or general certificate which does not indicate the award of Ph.D degree under the UGC Regulation 2009, leaving hundreds of assistant professor in degree colleges confused and mystified.
He said that the PSC has decided to allow all the shortlisted candidates to appear in the interview for the posts of assistant professor with a rider that they would have to produce a document containing the date of registration under PHD programme and date of implementation of the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedures for awards of M.phil/ PhD Degree) Regulation, 2009 by January 15.
He also said recall of MSP certificates and that too at a moment when PSC was about to conduct the interview for Assistant Professors in state colleges, was a shocking step. "The notification issued by JU in this regard has left hundreds of Ph.D awardees of University in panic as the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has already issued the schedule for conducting interviews for Assistant Professor posts', starting from first week of January, and the Ph.D awardees of JU would be automatically thrown out," he added.
The NSF sought the immediate intervention of Governor in this regard to save the future of hundreds of highly qualified youth. The NSF also demanded immediate removal of incompetent Vice Chancellor of JU from his position.
Among those who participate in the protest were Varun Kumar, Shubum Kumar, Surjit, Rakesh kumar, Arun Manhas,Amit Kumar,Nikhil Sharma, Makhan Bhagat, Sahil Manhas and others.
