Akhnoor Congress remembers Mufti | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 8: Block Congress Committee in a condolence meeting held here in Akhnoor paid rich floral tributes to Late Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed Former Minister and Sr Vic e President PCC, Sham Lal Sharma who presided over the meeting remembered his association with late leader. "Mufti sahib's commitments will always inspire all the political activists and those determined to serve their people with earnest and clear vision, he said while paying tributes to late leader. Terming late leader a great visionary and a seasoned politician, senior Congress leader said, "Mufti Sayeed was a true statesman and his death has created a vacuum in the political horizon of the state as well as in the country which is impossible to be filled." Expressing his heartfelt condolences and sympathy with the bereaved family, he prayed to almighty to bestow peace on the departed soul and give courage to the bereaved family to bear this huge loss. Sharma also paid rich tribute to Indian soldiers martyred in the terrorist attack at Pathankote Air Force Base in Punjab. He said the real heroes of the country are the security forces who have once again shown their steel in the Pathankote attack. He also demanded cash award from J&K Govt.for one of the son of soil from Samba like other state has released ex-gratia. The gathering also observed a two minutes silence was observed in the memory of martyrs. Among prominent who also paid tributes include Vikram Malhotra, Manmohan Singh, Kuldeep Raj Verma, Ram, Swaroop, Sham Choudhary, Subash Langer, Aman Gupta, Sarpanches and panches of area. |
