Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 11 bovines rescued | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, Jan 8: Continuing its drive to curb the menace of Bovine Smuggling, Ramban police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling by rescuing atleast eleven bovine animals from his clutches while the smuggler managed to give slip to police. Police sources said the absconding accused has been identified Manzoor Ahmad (driver ) S/o Gamma Gujjar R/O Govindpur Maitra and manhunt is launched to arrest him. Police reports said, "Police Party led by Inspector Vinod Kundal, SHO PS Ramban under the supervision of Mohd Rafiq Choudhary DySP (Hqrs) Ramban and Randeep Kumar, SSP Ramban laid a special Naka at Shan Palace on NHW here today." "During checking of vehicles, a Truck bearing registration no. 8579-JK02AA was stopped for checking. However sensing trouble, driver of the vehicle accelerated the speed but police gave it a hot chase and intercepted the vehicle. "During checking of the vehicle, eleven (11) bovines were found being smuggled from Jammu to Kashmir Valley, police sources said adding, "on this, the bovines were rescued and manhunt has been started." Accordingly a case FIR No. 09/2016 u/s 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Ramban against the accused. |
