High-tech recruitment gadgets introduced by Mufti for transparency in selection: Mohanty | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Jan 8: ADGP, Home Guards and Civil Defence and Chairman of Police Recruitment Board Lalit Indu Mohanty today attributed the success of bringing transparency in police recruitment by involving hi-tech gadgets to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who died as J&K chief minister Thursday last. Some senior politicians, however, wanted the old system of recruitment, which lacked transparency, he said while talking to Early Times. After taking over as the Chief Minister of the state, Mufti and his daughter Mehbooba showed their keenness to bring transparency in police recruitment process and entrusted the responsibility of recruiting 4000 police constables in state of Jammu and Kashmir by using this hi-tech technology used in Kishtwar district today with the help of Delhi based company. He said the recruitment process was being monitored through electronic gadgets, sensors and every bit of the recruitment process was being videographed. He said only three complaints were received from the candidates. However, after scrutinizing the video, all the three candidates got satisfied with their exit, he added. "One candidate claimed that he finished 1600 meter race in 7 minutes--- but after scrutinizing the video, it was found that instead of four laps, he completed only three laps of the ground," said Mohanty. He said that in order to avoid impersonating of candidates, photographed slips of each candidate had been prepared in which all the events were recorded, adding that the recruitment process was fool proof and there was no question of any error in the process. Everything would be put on record and produced as and when demanded. He said the written test of those who qualified today's test would be held around 20th of January. He said that like today's recruitment process, the written examination would also be videographed. "As and when the written examination is finished, the board will release the answer key and seek objections from those appeared in the test so that there is no scope of litigation with regard to selection process," said Mohanty. He said that first phase of recruitment process had been finished in 13 districts of the state and more districts would be covered in the next few days before written test was held. Meanwhile out of 2103 candidates, 1888 including 65 girls appeared in the recruitment process in last two days in which 1245 candidates were declared pass in race while the result of other events was still awaited when last reports came in. Out of 65 girls, only 31 qualified at the end of the event. While talking to Early Times, the candidates showed satisfaction over the use of hi-tech gadgets in the today's recruitment process and added that the recruitment process would now be without corruption and political interference. It is pertinent to mention that 71 posts of constable, including 53 in armed police and 18 in the district police, have been sanctioned for Kishtwar district. IGP Sunil Sharma, SSP Daleep Kumar, Dy. SP Basharat Ahmed, Dy. SP Ajaiz Ahmed, Dy SP Nikhil Ghour and Dy. SP Mohan Lal Thakur are other members of the recruitment board. Kishtwar police provided all the logistic help to the recruitment team. in successful conduct of recruitment process. |
