Azad visits late Mufti Sayeed's Graveyard in Bijbehara, offers 'fateha' | | | Early Times Report
Bijbehara, Jan 8: Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday visited the graveyard in Dara Shikoh Garden, Bijbehara Anantnag of Srinagar and paid tributes to Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed here today. Ghulam Nabi Azad was accompanied by PCC Chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir, PCC vice Chief Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, CPI (M) M. Y Tarigami, Chief PDF Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Congress MLA's Mohammad Amin Bhat, Gulzar Ahmed Wani and others. The leaders offered 'fateha' special prayers at the grave of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and prayed for eternal peace to his soul. While paying floral tributes Ghulam Nabi Azad described the suave leader as a self-respecting, seasoned and thinking politician and added late leader relentlessly strived for the equitable development of all the regions of the State and envisioned a unified, inclusive, pluralistic and progressive J&K and a strong India. "His qualities of head and heart, warmth and concern for others won him friends from across the political spectrum and made him dear to one and all, without any distinction of caste, colour and creed, he added. CPI (M) J&K Chief M Y Tarigami, PDF Chief Hakeem Mohd Yaseen also paid tributes to Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and while paying tributes they termed the late leader as a great visionary and an experienced politician. "Mufti Sayeed was a true statesman, they said and added his death has created a vacuum in the political horizon of the state as well as in the country which is impossible to be filled." |
