According to locals, as the repair of the bridge was not possible under State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF), the then district administration decided to convert the bridge for light motor vehicles, accordingly the project was cleared and tender worth Rs 5.50 Crores was floated. Meanwhile Naresh Sharma a resident of Androla said, "Inhabitants of Androla, Potha, Kallar, Bathooni and adjoining areas especially employees and students on both side of the Rajouri river have been facing many difficulties for their routine works and the department as well as contractor seems not to be bothered about our problems." .
