DC Kishtwar scrutinized RDD record, order for physical verification of works | Discrepancies in MGNREGA | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Kishtwar, Feb 13: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan today scrutinized the record of Rural Development Department Mughal Maidan with regard to Panchayat Sigdi after the public complaint over non release of full payments by the department against the work executed under Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and on the request of the complainant party, DC Kishtwar has decided to constitute a committee of the officials who will conduct the physical as well as reassessment of works executed by the complainant party who was claiming that less payments were paid to them as compared to the work executed. As per the details available with "Early Times" Block Development Office Mughal Maidan Moshin Raza Ahanger along with concern officials of the Panchayat Sigdi appeared before the DC Kishtwar along with all relevant documents including the payment record which were made to job card holders by the department and after scrutiny, DC Kishtwar found that no extra payments were withdrawn against the work executed by the complainant party. The officials of the department clarified before the DC Kishtwar that the complainant party finished only 40% works of the Pakka Path and hence the payments were made in accordance to the work executed by the complainant party, beside also clarified that no extra payments had been withdrawn on the name of the works executed by the complainant party which was also authenticated on scrutinizing the official record. Later on the request of the complainant, DC Kishtwar order for physical verification as well the re-assessment of the MGNREGA works executed in the said area. It is pertinent to mention that one Abdul Qayoom son of Faqira, Muneer Hussain son of Ahmadoo, Faqera son of Sanyee all resident of Balana Sigdi of Mughal Maidan block of Chatroo Sub Division of Kishtwar District approach the office of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar alleging that against the work done of Rs. 7000/job card, the officials of the department paid only Rs. 1800 to them added that beside Rs. 1800, the department paid Rs. 5400 as carriage charge for transportation of the cement. They allege that the job card holders executed the work of Pakka Path in Sigdi Balana in the year 2014-15 added that against the work done they only received Rs. 1800 in their accounts in the ongoing month of this year (February 2016) which has shocked them. |
