RDD Kishtwar generates 18 lac job days | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Kishtwar, Feb13: The Rural development Department in Kishtwar, spread over 13 blocks including newly created blocks, has achieved 58% target under MGNREGA for the year 2015-2016 and out of targeted 30.63 lac jobs days. The department by ending January 2016 has so far generated 18 lac job days and hopes that the target set by the department for the year 2015-16 is likely to be crossed by the end of the financial year. As per the details available with Early Times, Assistant Commissioner Development Kishtwar in its official communication to Secretary to Government Rural Development Department, civil Secretariat Jammu vide No. ACDK/2015-16/9378-81 Dated 11-2-2016 stated that the liability of District Kishtwar for the year 2013-14 is Rs. 1730.56 lacs and for the year 2014-15 is 6242.80 lacs and thus thetotal liability of Kishtwar District with regard to MGNREGA was Rs. 7973.36 lacs and out of the total liability, the government releases an amount of Rs. 7373.09 lacs to clear the pending liability which was cleared soon after receiving the funds from the government. He stated that Rs. 3895.28 lacs were released in favour of Eight blocks of Kishtwar constituency while Rs. 3374.75 lacs were released in favour of five blocks of Inderwal constituency while there was pending liability of Rs. 353.98 lac and Rs. 462.74 lacs respectively for both the constituencies. He further stated that as far as approval of Plan is concerned, Government of India has agreed Labour Budget for the year 2015-16 for Kishtwar is Rs 8373.16 lacs added that his office has accorded approval of Rs. 7983.44 lacs against approved Labour budget of Rs. 8373.16 lacs for the year 2015-16. He stated that beside liabilities of Rs. 816.73 lacs and the work done claims for current financial year is Rs. 4908.91 lacs. When contacted ACD Kishtwar confirmed to Early Times that Kishtwar has so far generated 18 lac job days out of targeted 30.63 lac job days. He said that the number of job days by the end of the financial year could go beyond the set targeted subjected to the demand of jobs from the job card holders. |
