Irked over dusty ride, locals demand for blacktopping of Dheraja road | | | Early Times Report
Bhaderwah, Feb 13 : Alleging bumpy and dusty ride, the residents living adjoining to Dheraja link road of Bhaderwah in District Doda have demanded for black topping of Dheraja-Bhaderwah link road. "The respiratory ailments besides other dust-borne diseases have seen a spurt in last few years as potholes and large pits were created in the roads of the area due to negligence of the concerned department towards their maintenance," said the residents. The residents alleged that the three kilometer long link road connecting is in worst condition since long and no one is paying heed towards it. "We have taken the matter with concerned authorities several times, but nobody listened to our problem," added Abdul Kabir Malik a renowned social worker of the area. "This was an old link road connecting Bhaderwah town to Dheraja village via Khazan Senu and Gaggal filter pant but today is in shambles, said Mr Malik. He recalled that for the construction of this road, he had struggled a lot and also provided his agricultural land voluntary but when pleaded the case of construction of Dheraja link road in past ironically political leader from different parties opposed it. Besides Mr Malik other residents from area also rued that the condition of link road is pathetic and it makes traveling difficult even it leads to accidents various times. "The bad condition of road had become a nuisance, especially during the rains," they added. The residents of this area demanded macadamisation and black topping of road and starting work on another link road from fire fighting office to Iqbal Colony Primary School near Dheraja Link Road for better connectivity. |
