Jammu, Feb 13 : The Department of Botany of Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar organized cleanliness drive under the aegis of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan here today. In order to make the campus clean and green, the students and staff of Botany Department cleaned the Department, Botanical garden and adjoining area. The students painted the pots, whitewashed the stones, watered the plants and planted the saplings in the garden. Principal of College, Dr. Kiran Bakshi, who was chief guest on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of Botany Department in general and students in particular to make the campus clean and green. This is an ideal step to act locally and think globally while fulfilling the dreams of our worthy Prime Minister Narinder Modi and as envisioned by father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Dr. Suman Bala Sharma, Head of Botany Department said that it is small contribution from our department to make our college, neat, clean and green, and let this message reach to every nook and corner of the country. |
