Mendhar, Apr 2: A BJP leader received severe head injuries when he was allegedly assaulted with an iron rod by a school teacher here today.
Zafar Iqbal, a local BJP leader, was assaulted with an iron rod by Javed Qureshi, son of Mohammad Sharief of Jughal.
Javed, a teacher by profession, was at present putting up in a rented house near sariya-cement market here.
Official sources alleged that the duo had a scuffle, following which Javed beat up Zafar with an iron rod.
Zafar was hospitalised and his condition was stated to be critical.
He had sustained a severe head injury, sources said.
The Mendhar police station SHO said a case would be registered against the accused. |
