BSNL fails to recover Rs 43 cr outstanding in Jammu circle | | | GS Asgotra Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 2: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has miserably failed to recover outstanding dues worth Rs 43 crore from the defaulters, including big business houses, Government departments and others. Reliable sources in department informed Early Times that for many years the defaulters have not been depositing their dues of worth Rs 43 crore including Rs 19 crore pending dues of landline phones while Rs. 24 crore of cell phones. However, the General Manager Telecom District, Jammu has directed to lower rung officers to serve legal notices to the defaulters but in spite of these, the same have been failed to deposit their outstanding dues, source said. Source further said that Goutam Lal, General Manager, Telecom District (GMTD) has already directed the officials that if the defaulters have not been got the benefit of legal notices and unsuccessful to deposit their dues in stipulated time frame, then we have no other option to divulge their names in public domain. "On one hand, the subscribers have demanded to provide service round the clock, it is good that they are fully aware about their rights, but contrary to it, they have failed to perform their duty and not deposit services charge in time", the source added. They further said that owing to worth of Rs 43 crores liability, the department has been unable to return security fee to subscribers, if subscribers have disconnected from the service which take the department when apply for the service. General Manager Telecom District, Jammu Circle Gautam Lal said that it was a challengeable task for them to recover outstanding dues from the defaulters. "We already served the legal notices the defaulters, if thereafter, they fail to deposit pending dues then appropriate action will be taken soon", he said. |
