Burglars steal Rs 30,000 from MLA Hostel

srinagar, Apr 2: In a major security breach, burglars on Friday managed to enter the high-security MLA Hostel here and stole around Rs 30,000 from the room of ex-Bandipora MLA.
Sources said burglars on Friday entered room No 223 of ex-MLA, Bandipora, Ghulam Rasool Naz and took away Rs 30,000. The incident took place when Naz's daughter was alone in the quarter.
Manzoor Ahmad, son-in-law of the ex-MLA said that he had brought the matter to the notice of police. "It is true that burglars have stolen Rs 30,000 from the room. I have lodged a complaint with Kothi Bagh police station, he informed."
However, SHO of Kothi Bagh police station, when contacted, expressed ignorance about the issue. "We have no such report," he claimed.
"We don't know how all this happened. We are also looking into the matter," manager of MLA Hostel, Srinagar, Mohammad Maqbool said.
Officials said it was a major security breach as burglars had entered the MLA Hostel which "remains under the surveillance of security forces all the time".
