Mendhar, Apr 2: Inhabitants of Banola staged a protest here today against the scarcity of drinking water in the village. Protesters, who were led by Zeeshan Rana, shouted slogans against AEE of PHE, sub- division, Mendhar, Israr Ahmed Khan, PHE Xen, Poonch, and PHE chief engineer for not supply adequate quantity of drinking water to the village.
They alleged that WSS was not visible on ground in the village and they had to fetch drinking water from very far off places.
The water reservoirs had developed cracks and were not being properly maintained, they alleged.
The protesters warned to intensify their agitation in case proper supply of water was not restored to the village. |
