Excise Commissioner visits Toll Post Lakhanpur 4/2/2016 11:38:54 PM Early Times Report Kathua, Apr 2: T. Angchok (IAS), Excise Commissioner J&K Government visited the Toll Post Lakhanpur today and reviewed the functioning and revenue realized during the year 2015-16. During the meeting, Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Excise Commissioner Toll Post Lakhanpur gave an overview of the achievements of the Toll Post during the year 2015-16 and informed that an amount of Rs. 495.58 crores has been realized during the year 2015-16, in comparison to Rs. 415.61 crores realized during previous year i.e. 2014-15, thereby showing an increase of Rs.79.97 crores i.e 19.24%. During the year, the functionaries at the Toll Post have detected 463 cases against 330 cases of toll evasion during previous year and imposed /recovered penalty amounting to Rs 32.88 lac against Rs. 23.48 Lac. 26359 number of willow clefts were detected during the year 2015-16 as against 4550 Numbers in the previous year. 15440 Kgs of Polythene (contraband) recovered during the year as against 5585 kgs during last year. The Toll Post seized 20515 kgs of herbs (contraband) against nil during the last year. Similarly, 3063 bottles of IMFL were seized against 105 bottles during the last year. Later, the Excise Commissioner inspected the ongoing developmental works at the old Toll Plaza for which Executive Engineer PWD Kathua also accompanied him. He issued instructions for early completion of the works undertaken by the department that include macadamization of Export Yard, Parking Yard at Import Side etc. He also inspected the proposed site for construction of Public Toilet at New Toll Plaza by Sulabh International Social Service Organization.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
