Lobbying intensifies within 'Samba Congress' amid rumours of DCC's reconstitution | | | Gurdas Kumar
Early Times Report
Vijaypur, Apr 30: The lobbying has been reportedly intensified within Congress after the rumours are in air that much delayed reconstitution of the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) alongwith District Congress Committee (DCC) and Block Congress Committee (BCC) are on the cards very soon as the aspirants from within the Congress have started making rounds to their mentors to set winds in their favour. According to party sources, the roumours got in air after the reports about JKPCC Chief G A Mir is camping at national capital. They said the names of Arun Sharma and Vinod Mishra are the front runner for the District Congress Committee (DCC) to as President DCC Samba. "Even some other probable in race also include Parkash Sharma - Ex-MLA, Subash Bhagat - unsuccessfully contested candidate, S Manjit Singh General Secretary PCC J&K, party sources added. Sources further said that while name of Arun Sharma is supported by present President JKPCC G A Mir, and former union minister & Leader of Opposition Party Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, at the other hand Sharma duo (Ex MP Madan Lal and ex Minister Sham Lal) alongwith Raman Bhalla, S Manjit Singh (ex ministers) and Ex Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand are backing Vinod Mishra. "Meanwhile the Parkash Sharma - an ex-MLA too has reportedly thrown his hat in the arena and has put his stake claiming that being a senior most leader he shall be given chance again to represent DCC Samba, party sources added. According to sources the prospect of Congress in District Samba has declined since last 12 years and party cadre is hoping that party shall provide the opportunity to the young, dynamic and dedicated worker who may increase the graph of Congress in the entire Samba district which houses two assembly constituencies. If recalled that party has granted a chance to former minister S Manjit Singh who has been given an opportunity to contesting election, however he failed to raise graph of party because of fractured mandate and strong Modi wave factor apart from the basic reason for his alleged 'changing of loyalties' i.e. jumping from one political party to another. This is why he might face some tough times as he is facing public annoyance and from basic cadre also. "Meanwhile Vinod Mishra though is a senior party leader but he has been in hibernation and non-active for the last 12 years and Subash Bhagat too has also been tested in the assembly election by the party but failed to have a smooth sailing and lost," sources added. "Whatever the reason may be of their failure but the front runners are engaged in hectic lobbying and are making rounds to their mentors sitting in party high command to manage some fruits of season and next month shall be very critical for the Congress leaders," sources said, adding," and all are waiting to see which side the wind blows.' |
