CCBL staff welcomes Vigilance probe against ex-chairman | | | Early Times Report jammu, Apr 30: The state government's decision of seeking Vigilance probe into malfunctioning and mismanagement of public money in the Citizen's Cooperative Bank Ltd Jammu during the chairmanship of Dinesh Gupta has brought cheers to the bank staff. According to sources, a number of staff members are going to personally approach the State Vigilance Organization for extending their help in exposing the misdeeds of Gupta and his team during his successive two tenures as the chairman. Even as the Vigilance Organization has got the list of complaints against Gupta from the State Cooperative Department, sources said that more skeletons are likely to come out of the cupboard during the enquiry. Pertinent to mention that the Cooperative Department, while asking the Vigilance Organization for in-depth inquiry against Gupta, has also forwarded copies of letter No.RCS/B&F/CCB-21/1031 dated 26-2-2016 and letter No RCS/B&F/CCB-III-Insp-06/1088, dated 16-3-2016 from Registrar Cooperative Societies J&K, Jammu, listing the complaints of malfunctioning and mismanagement of public money in the bank. Now, more specific instances of omissions and commissions by Gupta are being compiled by the bank staff, who were so far being harassed and threatened by the incumbent chairman and his team of sycophants who occupy top positions in the CCBL, sources explained. Among the complaints, sources said that recent case of forcing the staff members to avail bank loan and then purchasing shares of the CCBL from the same amount for manipulating the annual results and misleading the RBI, is likely to figure prominently. Early Times in its April 22 issue had exclusively reported how the managing Board of Directors of CCBL Jammu resorted to open loot in the bank last month by taking the poor employees for a ride through forcing them to avail loan, which was transferred to their respective accounts within two days without processing the requisite formalities for the same and then also deducting Rs 50 thousands from the said accounts on the very next day. |
