To make more 'money', traffic 'cop' sets target for juniors | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 30: Left with no other option to mint more money through illegal means, a traffic police officer is alleged to have given a target to his juniors to collect money for him from the violators of traffic rules here. "He has asked his junior officers to give him the bribe money, they collect from minibus operators and other violators of traffic rules, on daily basis. He has clearly told them that he will not wait for one month to get his share of the proceeds," police sources said. "Every evening, he goes to a particular spot where his juniors meet him and give him the packets of bribe money," sources alleged, saying if any of his juniors fails to come true to his expectations, he orders his transfer to some less important place. Sources alleged that his expectations from his juniors had increased after the transfer of a new traffic police officer in the district. He was not concerned about the mess on Jammu roads, but was interested only in making more money through unfair means, sources alleged. |
