20 bovines rescued, two smugglers held | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 30: Police today claimed to have foiled a major bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of two smugglers and rescuing of atleast 20 animals which were being smuggled towards valley during a naka at Miran Sahib in city outskirts. "The accused have been identified as Mohd Rafiq s/o Haji Babu Murallian Jammu and Lal Din s/o Fayaz Ahmed r/o Dansal Jammu, police sources said. "Following information, the Miran Sahib Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib Hilal Azahar during the intervening night of 29/30 laid a naka and arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued twenty bovine animals from their possession which were loaded in a truck bearing registration number JK02AL/4306 in inhumane conditions," police said. A case FIR No. 73/2016 u/s 188/RPC 3/PCA Act was registered in this connection. The arrest was made under supervision of SP Hdqrs Romesh Kotwal. |
