Multispecialty mega free medical, dental camp held | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 1: Shanti Path Trust (SPT),Trikuta Nagar, Jammu in association with Govt Medical College &; Hospital (GMC), Indira Gandhi Govt Dental College (IGGDC),Director General Indian System of Medicines (ISM) and Jan Chetna Rural Development Forum organized a multispecialty mega free medical and dental camp at village Chillar. SPT organizes such camps in isolated and remote area to deliver specialists' health care to under privileged population. Some people from adjoining hills tracked long distances to reach camp site. This is SPT's thirty first camp and sixth ventures in this area. The camp had services of six specialists. Seven hundred and thirty six patients took advantage of this opportunity. The team of specialists and staff included Drs Bhavani Raina and Pallavi Sharma(Eye), Dr Kamal Kishore (ENT) from GMC & amp; H ,Drs Meenakshi Manhas, Shivangi,Shahid Ahmed, Shiekh Tafazul and Ajeet (Hyg) from I GGDC, Drs Bipan Chander, Sonakshi Chibber,Monika Rajput, Nitin Abrol and Mohinder Singh (Pharmist) from DG, ISM. Specialists during the camp attended to Eye-146 , Dental-104 (Znoe Filing-10,GIC filling-5), ENT-47 , ISM- 187.R K Nanda and V K Nanda, had a busy schedule with their expert services in physiotherapy and acupressure respectively and covered 149 patients. Thirty five cases of cataract were identified for implantation of IOL and these surgeries have been planned on 6 th ,9 th and 16 th May at GMC .Dr Dinesh Gupta,Proffesor and HOD Deptt of Ophthalmology, GMC has always been very cooperative andkind for helping such under privileged and shall along with his team be operating these patients. |
