Politics in GMC: Senior doctors want to quit | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 1: Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu is known for its 'politics.' Now another case of internal politics has come to fore as some doctors who hold key positions and work as per their wish are compelling some genuine doctors to leave the GMCH Jammu, sources told Early Times. They said, it seems some senior doctors are being compelled to leave the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu due to internal pathetic politics of some doctors-who do not want to run the hospital smoothly and provide best medicare to patients. Reliable sources in H&ME Department told Early Times that some doctors have applied for Non Objection Certificate (NOC) in H&ME department and from GMCH Jammu, it has come to fore that some doctors in GMCH have been doing pathetic politics for past many years and vitiating the atmosphere that is adversely affecting patient care. "Some doctors are planning to leave the GMCH Jammu and some others have applied for it due to internal and personal politics and a few doctors are defaming the name of this institute. If seniors will leave their job, the situation of the GMC will go out of control as doctors' burden will be increased and study of MBBS students would be affected most," they added. Sources stated some doctors, who want to run the system of GMCH Jammu as per their own whims and fancies, have created total anarchy in the institute severally affecting administrative and professional work including patient care. "The Health Minister should order a probe into why standards of GMC Jammu are deteriorating day by day, "sources stated. |
