| ERTU slams distortion of Dr Iqbal's name on school hoarding | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, May 1: President Educational Reformation Teachers Union (ERTU) District Kishtwar, Tanveer Ahmad Malik today strongly condemned the insulting hoarding installed in recreation cum sports hall of government Higher Secondary School boys Kishtwar where the name of the greatest poet of Asia was written as Iqbal Singh instead of Dr Sir Syed Mohd Iqbal.
He said that this lackadaisical and casual approach towards a poet and scholar who has revolutionized the world with his pen is beyond any bearable limits add that the school management has passed the buck on army that they have installed the hoarding but it is a sheer and irresponsible attitude of school management to have allowed this poster in the hall without cross checking its credentials.
The teacher community, poets, writers and scholars have strongly condemned this irresponsible act of the school management and demanded unconditional apology for this insulting remark to a poet of international repute.
He said that it is fundamental duty and responsibility of a any person who is upright and upholds the principal of honesty and integrity to castigate the wrong doings prevailing in the society added that it becomes more duty bound when teachers and nation builders are insulted in public view since the authorities at helm of affairs forget both their duties and responsibilities which made imperative for the enlighten citizens to take the task in their own hands.
"It is even more important for teachers to remain vigilant to every menace either in school or outside. The recent issue of an insulting hoarding in the premises of HSS boys Kishtwar was another grim reminder of carelessness and happy go lucky attitude particularly of the head of the institution" said Malik added tha "Instead of extending regrets and apology for this heinous act, the authority indulged in passing the buck game which added further salt to the injuries. When such insulting things happen in schools it can easily be judged how the students of literature are being taught in classes". He said that the school which has been designated as model school is central school of the district which should be refurbished and rejuvenated on the said pattern added that if any wrong things happen, the association is always ready to mend such misconceptions and misdeeds. |
