Anantnag and Islamabad mean same for BJP! | | | Early Times Report jammu, May 2: No one had ever imagined that the RSS' political wing, the BJP, would endorse the Kashmiri policy vis-a-vis names of towns and villages in the Valley and outside it, but it has actually happened. It has dismissed those who had been opposing the radical Islamists in and outside the establishment, saying they were changing the names of the towns and villages and converting the state into a theocratic state step by step. The BJP has left none in any doubt that its policy vis-a-vis names of the towns and villages is no different from that of the Kashmiri fanatics and that it would not mind if anyone in the party calls Anantnag Islamabad. The BJP called Anantnag Islamabad on Sunday in its press release on J&K BJP president Sat Sharma's maiden rally in Anantnag. The fact is that the BJP's official statement was issued with an 'Anantnag/Islamabad' dateline, notwithstanding the fact that Anantnag is the official name of this town. It is obvious that the BJP committed this sin just for the sake of a few votes from the Valley, something which will never happen. The BJP will never win any seat in Kashmir. For, it is considered anti-Kashmir and anti-Muslim party, which it is not. It is more pro-Kashmir and more pro-Muslim than anyother political party in the country. That Kashmiri Muslims hate the BJP could be seen from the fact that its 33 out of 34 candidates in Kashmir had forfeited their security deposits in the 2014 assembly elections and that it had got only about 50,000 votes in the Valley, despite the fact that the BJP spent several hundred crores of rupees in Kashmir before and during the election campaign, as also despite the fact that Prime Minister Modi didn't chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogan when he ended his election speech in Srinagar. Earlier in February 2014, the BJP had endorsed the sinister view of Kashmiri leaders, separatists and the so-called mainstream leaders included, and agreed to incorporate in the agenda of alliance such atrocious terms as the Chenab Valley region (erstwhile Doda district) and the Pir Panjal region (Poonch-Rajouri belt) overlooking the fact that the erstwhile Doda district and Poonch and arts of Rajouri district were located in the same mountain range, called Pir Panjal range. The BJP did it willfully to appease those in Kashmir who had been trying their best to establish Greater Kashmir consisting of Muslim Kashmir and parts of Jammu province where the Muslims are somewhat more numerous. |
